Scratching your heads over what to do to entertain your kid during the upcoming March holidays?

Some suggested activities for parents to consider for the holidays include outdoor activities (such as park visits, in-line skating classes), art and other creative activities (such as pottery, art appreciation, dance and drama classes) and baking and cookery classes.

At Out of the Box Kids’ Club, our vision is Learning through Love and Laughter, where we aim to have our kids learn through fun activities.  We have planned an exciting week of varied and enjoyable activities for the kids. Our holiday camp incorporates educational activities that range from an outdoor garden tour to a kids’ fitness class to bringing out the artist, scientist as well as chef in your child!

Have you ever wondered why your child is still getting average grades despite 6 hours and $200 worth of tutoring each week… Or why some of your child’s peers are getting straight A’s despite having no tutoring?

The truth is that most students have the innate potential to get the best grades with little or no tutoring at all. But society norms and the limitations of education provision in schools have ensured that 8 out of 10 students today receive some form of tutoring, be it in tuition centres or privately at home. Of these 8 students, evidence has shown that only 1 or 2 of them are likely to reap the real benefits of the tutoring sessions. The remaining students, unfortunately, are only able to absorb not more than 30% of what’s being taught.

As can be seen, there is a good chance that you are not getting the most out of your investment in your child’s education. Hence here’s the million dollar question: How can you help your child get the best grades with little or no tutoring at all?

Here are the Test Items for the SwimSafer Test. (Had tried to put it in table form initially but can't seem to do it on the forum due to my little IT knowledge)  Stage 4 is also known as Bronze, while stage 5 is known as Silver and Stage 6 is known as Gold. However, let me stressed again, this SwimSafer program is very different from the NASSA test. Thus, please do not think that if your kid has passed NASSA Bronze, he will be able to do SwimSafer Silver. It is perfectly alright for him to be allocated to a lower stage under Swimsafer if he can't do the items in the program.

Some parents have asked if they are able to train and register their kids for the test on their own without training under a coach. It is highly unlikely that most parents will be able to train their own kids for Swimsafer. Eg. there are quite a number of rescue skills to be taught which the parents are unable to let their kids practise in a public pool without a coach. The lifeguards will not allow the usage of life jacket or rope without a coach.
